Derby County Council are to make a decision shortly on whether they wish to contribute more funding to the Derby Boulevard scheme. This exciting project has been designed to offer a superbly paved boulevard between Derby railway station and the busy city centre.

With rail travel becoming to the most popular choice for public transport passengers the boulevard will act as a wholly appropriate link transporting passengers to and from this popular destination.

The project is reported to be costing an estimated £8m and land has been specifically purchased to accommodate the boulevard and amenities. Derby County Council will be meeting to make a decision on whether to purchase more land for the boulevard scheme.

Plans are ahead to start the regeneration project in 2010 and the plans include the paved boulevard lined with over 2500 commercial shops, apartments and business offices.
