London Crossrail Project Moves Closer

The Crossrail project has become an exciting project with a vision to create an affordable rail link across the countries capital. The Crossrail is designed to link Maidenhead with Heathrow an an underground section in the main city centre between Paddington and Londons East End.
Royal assent was given to the Crossrail project in July 2008 and the Crossrail Act which has also been past gives way for development to start.
This massive project has attracted positive attention from a number of developers but the the only two in the running at the present time are:-
- Balfour Beatty - Shareholders in Metronet the London underground maintenance contractors
- Betchel - A US company involved in the construction of the High Speed One link between London and the Channel tunnel.
Crossrail is a £16b rail project expected to move passengers from 2017.
