New Railway Station Approved for Lancashire

A Lancashire railway station that has been in the prospective pipeline since 1999 is to finally go into construction. The news station which is expected to be built in Buckshaw Village on land between Chorley and Leyland.
The final budget is yet to be disclosed but approval has been given by Network Rail for the project to start which will include a brand new Park and Ride service, a two platform station with passenger bridge and an estimated 300 space car park.
Work on the new railway station is expected to start as early as the New Year and has already attracted widespread support in the local community as part of an on going campaign to improve public transport services for local residents.
