London to Paris in 10 hours, not bad for the 19th century but a little unacceptable for rail travellers in the 21st century. Well thats exactly what happened when a Eurostar rail delay left a train full of passengers, over six hundred, seething as they crept into Paris 10 hours later than expected, despite two replacement trains being involved.

A rail trip that should have taken just 2hrs 15 minutes went horrendously wrong after technical failures left the Eurostar train high and dry north of Paris in the early hours of Saturday morning.

French rail operators SNCF were quick to blame the British driver for the Eurostar rail delay blaming his inability to access and diagnose the technical error correctly but also had to admit that other factors had contributed to the incident.

More intense training for Eurostar drivers on how to diagnose technical issues was voiced as part of the Eurostar apology today.
